Judgment (卦辞)

The Taming Power of the Great. Perseverance furthers. Not eating at home brings good fortune. It furthers one to cross the great water. Great accumulation of energy and resources makes significant achievement possible, but restraint and wise management are required.

大畜：利贞，不家食吉，利涉大川。

Image (象辞)

Heaven within the mountain — the image of the Taming Power of the Great. Thus the superior man acquaints himself with many sayings of antiquity and many deeds of the past, in order to strengthen his character. Heaven enclosed within the mountain represents vast knowledge stored and preserved.

天在山中，大畜；君子以多识前言往行，以畜其德。
