Judgment (卦辞)

After Completion. Success in small matters. Perseverance furthers. At the beginning, good fortune; at the end, disorder. After completion represents a state of achieved order — things are in their proper places. But this perfection is fragile; vigilance is needed to maintain it.

既济:亨小,利贞,初吉终乱。

Image (象辞)

Water over fire — the image of After Completion. Thus the superior man takes thought of misfortune and guards against it in advance. Water above fire achieves a balance, but this equilibrium must be actively maintained or it deteriorates.

水在火上,既济;君子以思患而预防之。
