Judgment (卦辞)

Grace has success. In small matters it furthers one to undertake something; in great matters it does not. Grace brings beauty and form, but one must not let ornamentation obscure substance. Simplicity at the core gives grace its true power.

贲：亨。小利有攸往。

Image (象辞)

Fire at the foot of the mountain — the image of Grace. Thus the superior man proceeds with civil order and clarifies criminal cases, but does not dare to decide them with arbitrary severity. Fire illuminating the mountain from below adds beauty without altering its substance.

山下有火，贲；君子以明庶政，无敢折狱。

Modern Application

Bi-Grace is about form and beauty enhancing substance — but not replacing it. Relevant for branding, UX design, and any situation where aesthetics must serve function.
