Judgment (卦辞)

The Power of the Great. Perseverance furthers. Great power must be used with restraint; brute force alone leads to misfortune. True strength is shown through correct conduct and self-discipline, not through reckless aggression.

大壮：利贞。

Image (象辞)

Thunder in heaven above — the image of the Power of the Great. Thus the superior man does not tread on paths that do not accord with established order. Thunder above heaven represents irresistible force; the wise person channels this power through proper conduct.

雷在天上，大壮；君子以非礼弗履。

Modern Application

Da Zhuang warns that great power requires great restraint — strength without discipline leads to ruin. Relevant for managing dominant market position, restraining aggressive expansion, and responsible use of authority.
