Judgment (卦辞)

Opposition. In small matters, good fortune. Opposition means divergence and separation, but even estranged parties can find small points of agreement. One should not attempt great undertakings but focus on manageable reconciliations.

睽：小事吉。

Image (象辞)

Fire above, the lake below — the image of Opposition. Thus the superior man agrees with others in general while maintaining his individuality. Fire rises upward and water flows downward; their paths diverge, yet each follows its nature. Difference is not always conflict.

上火下泽，睽；君子以同而异。

Modern Application

Kui acknowledges that divergence exists but can still yield small agreements — finding common ground amid differences. Essential for bipartisan cooperation, conflict mediation, and managing team disagreements.

睽承认分歧存在但仍然可以达成小的协议——在差异中寻找共同点。对两党合作、冲突调解和管理团队分歧至关重要。
