Judgment (卦辞)

The Army. The army needs perseverance and a strong man. Good fortune without blame. A wise general leads with discipline and clear purpose. The masses require organization and a capable leader to achieve success.

师：贞，丈人吉，无咎。

Image (象辞)

In the middle of the earth is water — the image of the Army. Thus the superior man increases the masses by generosity to the people. Water hidden within the earth represents latent strength — a wise leader draws upon this reserve with benevolence.

地中有水，师；君子以容民畜众。
