Judgment (卦辞)

Following has supreme success. Perseverance furthers. No blame. To follow willingly, one must first find the right leader. When the time for movement comes, the person who can adapt and follow the proper course will achieve great success.

随：元亨利贞，无咎。

Image (象辞)

Thunder in the middle of the lake — the image of Following. Thus the superior man at nightfall goes indoors for rest and recuperation. Thunder and lake are in harmony; movement is followed by stillness. Adapting to natural rhythms brings success.

泽中有雷，随；君子以向晦入宴息。

Modern Application

Sui teaches the wisdom of following — knowing when to lead and when to adapt to circumstances. Valuable for adaptive strategy, knowing when to join versus initiate, and respecting natural cycles.
